Engage Your World – Part 3
June 9th & 10th, 2018
Dr. Jeffrey Allen Love
“Hearing this, a man sitting at the table with Jesus exclaimed, ‘What a blessing it will be to attend a banquet in the Kingdom of God!’” Luke 14:15
- God’s Winning Hand Is A Full House.
“‘…so that the house will be full.’” Luke 14:23b
- Go Quickly.
“The servant returned and told his master what they had said. His master was furious and said, ‘Go quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and invite the poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame.’” Luke 14:21
“Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone.” James 4:14b
“After the servant had done this, he reported, ‘There is still room for more.’” Luke 14:22
- Urge Anyone.
“So his master said, ‘Go out into the country lanes and behind the hedges and urge anyone you find to come, so that the house will be full.’” Luke 14:23
(Jesus) “‘Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.’” Matthew 11:28
Next Step: I will “Go” and urge someone to come to At The Movies 2018.
- What would you think if you showed up for a party at a big banquet hall and hardly anyone was there? Would it make you want to stay or go?
- Read Luke 14:15-24. What stands out to you about the characters in the story?
The host; the excuse-making guests; the servants who go get more people; the “lower class” people who get last-minute invitations.
- Who are the people most likely to accept an invitation from you? Why is that? Who will you invite to “At the Movies” at Alive Church?
