My God Given Personality

God has given me a unique personality to honor Him. He has created my personality, my emotions, desires and will to serve the purpose and plan He has for me. As a follower of Jesus, He is working to develop the full potential of my personality. As with all gifts that God gives me, I have a responsibility to yield to Him daily and cultivate the strengths of my personality through discipline. He empowers me with the ability to do this through the Holy Spirit living in me.

God has given me a unique personality to honor Him. God was present at my conception and birth; He created me in His image with a distinct disposition and temperament. He formed me as He wanted me to be. I am fearfully and wonderfully made. I am unique. I am His masterpiece created to do the good things He planned for me to do in Jesus. I recognize that my unique God-given personality influences every area of my life, therefore I will seek to understand how He created and designed me. It affects and influences how I relate to both God and others.

Because of sin the very thing God created for good has been tainted. Perhaps strengths have turned to weaknesses. As I follow Jesus and allow Him to transform me into a new creation, He is working to redeem my personality according to His original plan. He is increasing my strengths and lessening my weaknesses. While complete perfection is not attainable in this life, He is working in me to bring me closer to being like Jesus every day. One day the process will be over, and I will be made perfect in the presence of Jesus and God the Father. God has given me a unique personality to honor Him.

I will not compare myself to others. He made me, He knows me, He cares about me, He accepts me, He values me and He died for me. As I give Him my life, daily He is working in me to release the potential of the personality He has given me. I will not be critical of the personalities He created in others, rather I will appreciate, celebrate and value them. God loves the diversity He has created in the personalities that He has distributed, and this was done so for the sake of His Body the Church.

Today I choose to submit my personality to Jesus and His plan for me lest it become, as all things that are separated from their Creator, destructive. God has given me a unique personality to honor Him.
