Working for The Lord

Whatever I do I will work as though I am working for the Lord. As a follower of Jesus, everything I do reflects Jesus. Because of this truth I find work meaningful regardless of how tedious it may seem. Because of this truth I find work fulfilling irrespective of how mundane it may appear. Because of this truth I find work rewarding because it is ultimately an expression of my commitment to Jesus. I will do my work with enthusiasm because I am working for the Lord rather than people. Regardless of the work the Lord has put before me I will do my work responsibly knowing that both my accountability and reward are found in Him.

Whatever I do I will work as though I am working for the Lord. I trust He will bring opportunities my way to fulfill the purpose and destiny He has for me. Therefore, I will practice excellence in my work whatever the compensation; my ultimate reward is my inheritance in Christ. In the meantime here on this earth, my work is an opportunity to do good and perpetually engage in benevolence to others in need. I will always do my work in an ethical manner. I will always do my work at a standard that is worthy of my Lord. As I do, work becomes a holy offering to God. As I do, work is transformed into a sacrifice of love. I will always do my work in a way that honors God.

Fidelity and honesty in my work will win the respect of others. I will live as a positive witness through my work. I will not depend on others for handouts; doing so would take advantage of others’ hard work. Rather I will show my love for others by making it my ambition to work hard with my own hands and be self-supporting, dependent on only Jesus as my provider. My desire through my work is to be a contributor – never to live in idleness; instead I will always keep in mind that my work reflects my commitment to Jesus. I am His ambassador in the work place. Whatever I do I will work as though I am working for the Lord.
