Who is God?

I trust God as the sustainer of my life. My understanding of God is growing and maturing and will continue until the day I see Him face to face. Until then He has given me His Word, the Bible, to help me grow in my understanding and knowledge of Him while on this earth.

God is awesome, the Creator of all things; He is Lord of Heaven and earth. He is the source of all life. And even though He is that big He has made Himself small enough to live in my heart through His Spirit; He is personal. Though He does not need anything from me, He loves me and He wants a relationship with me. All things were created by His Word, including me, with a purpose and a plan to glorify Him. I trust God as the sustainer of my life.

God is not bound by time; He is eternal. He sees the eternal past and the eternal future. In times of trials or persecution I will remember His timing is perfect. He has never failed to keep His promises and never will. I trust Him to fulfill His promises in my life even though He may not do so in the way I expect. I will never allow human reasoning to trump my faith and deter me from my hope, rather I will trust in Him in all things.

Because God, my loving Heavenly Father knows and understands me completely and He cares about every detail of my life, I do not need to live in fear of anything. I am valuable to Him; I am worth the cross of Jesus Christ. So when threats and difficulties come I know and trust that God my Father is in control. Because of this truth I rest in hope, respond to all circumstances with courage and will always live by faith. I will always trust and worship God with all of my heart and life because He is just and true; He alone is holy. Regardless of what comes my way I will trust Him to be as wise and faithful in my future as He has been in the past. I trust God as the sustainer of my life.

God is not only the Creator of all of life, but also the sustainer of life. There is no power that can compare to His power. Everything comes from Him and is to be used for His glory. I will live my life knowing His power is working in me and His purpose for me is to glorify Him with every breath. I will do this by allowing Him to shape my ideas, habits and values according to His priorities, knowing and trusting He is leading me into ultimate freedom through His Son Jesus. From this day forward, I trust God as the sustainer of my life.
