Always Open – Part 3
February 23 – 24, 2019
Dr. Jeffrey Allen Love
“Watch out! Don’t do your good deeds publicly, to be admired by others, for you will lose the reward from your Father in heaven.” Matthew 6:1
- Serve Others Without Looking For Applause.
- Guard the motive of my heart.
“When you give to someone in need, don’t do as the hypocrites do—blowing trumpets in the synagogues and streets to call attention to their acts of charity! I tell you the truth, they have received all the reward they will ever get.” Matthew 6:2
Tithe: acknowledging God’s provision and ownership.
Offering: giving anything over and above tithe to meet a need.
“And don’t forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that please God.” Hebrews 13:16
- Give in secret.
“But when you give to someone in need, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. Give your gifts in private, and your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.” Matthew 6:3-4
“Remember that the Lord will reward each one of us for the good we do…” Ephesians 6:8
Next Step: I will serve someone this week without expecting applause.
