Philippians 2:5-11

  • I have a choice.

“You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to.” Philippians 2:5-6

“Now, Father, bring me into the glory we shared before the world began.” John 17:5

  1. My agenda or His

“Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form,” Philippians 2:7

“This High Priest of ours (Jesus) understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin.” Hebrews 4:15

  1. Humility or arrogance

“…he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross.” Philippians 2:8

“’No one can take my life from me. I sacrifice it voluntarily. For I have the authority to lay it down when I want to and also to take it up again. For this is what my Father has commanded.'” John 10:18

  1. Honor Him now or honor Him later

“Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:9-11

Next Step: I’m choosing to honor God now, humble myself before Him and live my life by His agenda.
