 2 Corinthians 3:18

Glory: Beauty, power, or honor; a quality of God’s character that emphasizes His greatness.

“So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.” 2 Corinthians 3:18 

“For everything comes from him and exists by his power and is intended for his glory. All glory to him forever! Amen.” Romans 11:36 

• Prayer: Let My Life Reflect Your Glory. 

1. In my walk

“So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31

“Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God. Romans 6:13-14

2. With my stand

“Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God.” Romans 4:20

“’(Jesus) All who are mine belong to you, and you have given them to me, so they bring me glory.’” John 17:10

Discussion Starters from the Weekend Talk

Pastor Jeff wrapped up our Canvas series by challenging us to “Reflect His Glory.”

• Read 2 Corinthians 3:18 and Romans 11:36.
• What veil is Paul talking about? (See 2 Corinthians 3:7, 12-17.)
  • What does it mean to be made “more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image?”
  • What are the limits of God’s Glory as stated in Romans 11:36?
• Jeff encouraged us to adopt this prayer: “Let my life reflect Your glory.”
  • If you feel comfortable doing so, go around the room and have each person speak this prayer.
    • What difference can this make to your everyday life?
  • What keeps you from reflecting God’s glory?

• Read John 17:1-5, 20-26
  • What are some different ways that Jesus speaks of “glory” in these verses?
  • What did Jesus pray for?
    • Why do you think He prayed for those things?
  • What comes to mind when you consider that Jesus gave us the glory God gave Him? (v. 22)
