ELF – Part 2: Everlasting Faith

Luke 1:26-38

(Mary) “‘I am the Lord’s servant. May everything you have said about me come true.’ And then the angel left her.” Luke 1:38(p.780)

Greek – χάρις charis; grace, unmerited favor of God. Charis is the root word of eucharisteo or Eucharist. (signifies the act of receiving God’s grace.)

Jesus’ Birth, Before and After:

“And I will cause hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel.” Genesis 3:15(p.5)

“But women will be saved through childbearing, assuming they continue to live in faith, love, holiness, and modesty.” 1 Timothy 2:15 (p.911)

  • I Am A Favored Child Of God.

“So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son.” Ephesians 1:6(p.895)

  1. Don’t limit God’s choices.

“You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus.” Luke 1:31 (p.779)

(Jesus) “…with God everything is possible.” Matthew 19:26 (p.750)

  1. Wait for God’s timing.

“Mary asked the angel, ‘But how can this happen? I am a virgin.’” Luke 1:34 (p.779)

(Jesus) “I’m not going to this festival, because my time has not yet come.” John 7:8 (p.815)

  1. Willingly submit to God’s Word.

“’I am the Lord’s servant. May everything you have said about me come true.’” Luke 1:38 (p.780)

(Jesus) “…I want your will be done, not mine.” Matthew 26:39 (p.758)
