ELF – Part 3: Everlasting Friend
Luke 2:8-20
Series Memory Verse: “For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6 (p.523)
“You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God.” James 4:4 (p.932)
“That night there were shepherds staying in the fields nearby, guarding their flocks of sheep. Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them.” Luke 2:8–9 (p.781)
- I Will Glorify God And Tell Others About Him.
“I have seen you in your sanctuary and gazed upon your power and glory. Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise you!” Psalm 63:2–3 (p.441)
- Respond to God’s call without delay.
“‘Let’s go to Bethlehem! Let’s see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.’ They hurried to the village and found Mary and Joseph. And there was the baby, lying in the manger.” Luke 2:15-16 (p.781)
- Be intentional about sharing my faith.
“After seeing him, the shepherds told everyone what had happened and what the angel had said to them about this child. All who heard…were astonished…” Luke 2:17-18 (p.781)
- Make worship a priority.
“The shepherds went back to their flocks, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen. It was just as the angel had told them.” Luke 2:20 (p.781)
“I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me. You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name.” John 15:15–16 (p.824)
My Next Step This Week: I will take a moment each day to intentionally glorify God and tell others about Jesus.
“Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!” Psalm 34:8 (p.428)
