Fixer Upper – Part 4: Conflict Resolution

Series Memory Verse “…choose today whom you will serve…as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15 (p.186)

  • Healthy conflict builds unity and strength.

“I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.”  John 17:21 (p.825)

  1. Approach conflict with a loving heart.

“If another believer sins against you, go privately and point out the offense. If the other person listens and confesses it, you have won that person back.” Matthew 18:15 (p.749)

  1. Remember the goal is unity, not victory.

“But if you are unsuccessful, take one or two others with you and go back again… If the person still refuses to listen, take your case to the church.” Matthew 18:16-17 (p.749)

“Don’t answer the foolish arguments of fools, or you will become as foolish as they are. Be sure to answer the foolish arguments of fools, or they will become wise in their own estimation.” Proverbs 26:4-5 (p.499)

My Next Step This Week: ______ I will resolve one conflict the way Jesus taught to build unity and strength.
