God 3:16 – Part 5: The God Who Anoints You

Mark 3:13-19

  • God Is Wise, And He Chose Me.

“Then he appointed twelve of them and called them his apostles. They were to accompany him, and he would send them out to preach…” Mark 3:14 (p.763)

We live as God’s chosen people by:

  1. Be Relevant.

“These are the twelve he chose: Simon (whom he named Peter), James and John (the sons of Zebedee, but Jesus nicknamed them “Sons of Thunder”), Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James (son of Alphaeus), Thaddaeus, Simon (the zealot), Judas Iscariot (who later betrayed him).” Mark 3:16 (p.763)

“Therefore, go and make disciples …” Matthew 28:19a (p.760)

  1. Be Real.

 “Yes, I try to find common ground with everyone, doing everything I can to save some.” 1 Corinthians 9:22b (p.875)

  1. Be Reliant.

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7 (p.901)
