October 20 – 21, 2018
Ephesians 1:4-5

“Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord.”        Ephesians 6:4

Parents are charged with the task of training their children to become people who:

  1. See the world the way Jesus sees the world.
  2. Interact with the world the way Jesus does.
  • My identitycomes from God.

“God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.” Ephesians 1:5

Identity Parenting Is:

  1. Normal
  2. Miserable
  3. Crushing

(Jesus) “If you only knew the gift God has for you and who you are speaking to, you would ask me, and I would give you living water.”     John 4:10

How do I know if I am Identity parenting?

  • Success
  • Reputation
  • Control
  • Doing vs Being

“Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.”   Ephesians 1:4

My Next Step This Week: I will memorize Ephesians 1:5.
