Isolation Parenting
#Parentfail – Part 2
Dr. Jeffrey Allen Love
October 27 – 28, 2018

“Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him. Children born to a young man are like arrows in a warrior’s hands. How joyful is the man whose quiver is full of them!”    Psalm 127:3-5a

  • Community is God’s solution to the struggles of life.

“Listen, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children.”       Deuteronomy 6:4-7a

“‘(Jesus)The most important commandment is this: “Listen, O Israel! The LORD our God is the one and only LORD.  And you must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’”    Mark 12:29-30

  1. God has given us the opportunity to parent in the context of community.

“When they couldn’t find him, they went back to Jerusalem to search for him there. Three days later they finally discovered him in the Temple…”    Luke 2:45-46

  1. Be in a relationship with them.

“And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had.”    Acts 2:44

  1. Boldly ask for help from your community.

“Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ.”       Galatians 6:2

“May God, who gives this patience and encouragement, help you live in complete harmony with each other, as is fitting for followers of Christ Jesus. Then all of you can join together with one voice, giving praise and glory to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”   Romans 15:5-6
