Pressure Points – Part 2: Climate Change

Genesis 2:15, Genesis 1:9-11, 20, 24, 26-26

Series Memory Verse: “Live in harmony with each other. Don’t be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don’t think you know it all!” Romans 12:16 (p.866)

Being Biblical vs. political:

  • God created the world vs. battling this worldview.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Genesis 1:1 (p.3)

  • God sustains the world vs. changing how we do government.

“The Son radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God, and he sustains everything by the mighty power of his command.” Hebrews 1:3 (p.920)

  • God entrust us as His managers of the world vs. getting beliefs from a political party.

“Then God blessed them and said, ‘Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.’”
Genesis 1:28 (p.3)

God Has Entrusted Us To Care For His Creation.

  1. Embrace creation care.

“The heavens belong to the LORD, but he has given the earth to all humanity.” Psalm 115:16 (p.467)

“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 (p.811)

  1. Remember we are His managers.

“The LORD God placed the man in the Garden of Eden to tend and watch over it.” Genesis 2:15 (p.4)

“Heaven and earth will disappear, but my words will never disappear.” Matthew 24:35 (p.755)

  1. Worship God as The Creator not the creation.

For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.”         Romans 1:20 (p.857)

My Next Step This Week: _____ This week, I will immerse myself in the beauty of God’s creation for a few moments and reflect on God’s invisible qualities that you see. (Romans 1:20)
