Pressure Points – Part 3: God Created Us

Genesis 1:27-28 & Psalm 139:13-16

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” Romans 12:2 (p.866)

Biblical vs. political:

  • Life begins at conception vs. let’s decide democratically.

“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb…” Jeremiah 1:5 (p.570)

  • Abortion is murder vs. reproductive rights.

“You must not murder.” Exodus 20:13 (p.59)

  • Created intentionally by God vs. nature made a mistake.

“So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. Then God blessed them and said, ‘Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it.’” Genesis 1:27-28 (p.3)

God Knows Me From The Start.

  1. Understand I am His masterpiece.

“You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.” Psalm 139:13-14 (p.476)

“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2:10 (p.896)

  1. Stand with Jesus.

“‘Haven’t you read the Scriptures?’ Jesus replied. ‘They record that from the beginning ‘God made them male and female.’” Matthew 19:4a (p.749)

You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.” Psalm 139:15-16 (p.476)

  1. Always Respond in Love.

“Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.”
1 Corinthians 13:13 (p.878)

“This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you.” John 15:12 (p.824)
