Psalm 23 – Part 2: God Renews My Strength
“He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name. Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.” Psalm 23:3–4 (p.423)
- I Will Let God Renew My Strength.
- Through healing. (Truth #3 – God heals all my hurts.)
“He renews my strength.” Psalm 23:3a (p.423)
“For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost.” Luke 19:10 (p.801)
- Lies about healing:
- Time heals all wounds.
- I have to fix myself before coming to God.
- Once I’m healed it will never hurt again.
“Are any of you sick? You should call for the elders of the church to come and pray over you, anointing you with oil in the name of the Lord. Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make you well. And if you have committed any sins, you will be forgiven.” James 5:14–15 (p.932)
“…I am the Lord who heals you.” Exodus 15:26 (p.56)
- Through guidance. (Truth #4 – God guides me.)
“He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name.” Psalm 23:3 (p.423)
- How the world has distorted God’s guidance:
- Follow your heart above all else.
- Live your truth.
- Happiness is the highest goal.
“The Lord says, ‘I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.’” Psalm 32:8 (p.426)
“When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future.”
John 16:13 (p.824)
My Next Step This Week: I will read Psalm 23 three times per day.
