Giving is Worship
So Will I – Part 2
November 17 – 18, 2018
Dr. Jeffrey Allen Love
“‘Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.’” Matthew 6:21
“‘Your eye is like a lamp that provides light for your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is filled with light. But when your eye is unhealthy, your whole body is filled with darkness.’” Matthew 6:22-23a
“‘No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and be enslaved to money.’” Matthew 6:24
- Giving to God is an expression of worship.
- Understand this: God needs nothing.
“He is the God who made the world and everything in it. Since he is Lord of heaven and earth, he doesn’t live in man-made temples, and human hands can’t serve his needs—for he has no needs.” Acts 17:24-25a
- Recognize God owns everything.
“For ‘the earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it.’” 1 Corinthians 10:26
“Now, a person who is put in charge as a manager must be faithful. “ 1 Corinthians 4:2
- Decide in your heart how much to give.
“You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. ‘For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.’” 2 Corinthians 9:7
The least God requires is 10%, the most He accepts is 100%.
“’You should tithe, yes, but do not neglect the more important things.’” Matthew 23:23b
My Next Step This Week: I will worship God through giving.
