Stand Firm – Part 2: What Is Truth

Stand Firm – Part 2: What Is Truth

What Is Truth
Stand Firm – Week 2
April 25 – 26, 2020
Steve Tanner & Cody Kiwaczyk

Series Key Verse:

“A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.” Ephesians 6:10-11 (p.898)

“Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth.” Ephesians 6:13-14a (p.898)

Genesis 3 – Adam and Eve gave in to the lies of Satan.

  • Know The Truth To Defeat The Lies.

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” Hebrews 13:8 (p.928)

To know the Truth:

  1. Spend time with Jesus.

“Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” John 14:6 (p.823)

  1. Study the Bible.

“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.” 2 Timothy 3:16 (p.915)

  1. Seek relationships with others who live out #1 and #2.

“Let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.” Hebrews 10:25 (p.926)

Next Step:      This week I will spend time with God every day.

Note: You choose the method! You might read the Daily Reading from the Life Transformation Bible: This week our focus is “Serving” on page A38-39. You could listen to worship music or read your Bible (perhaps Ephesians 6:10-18 which speaks of the Armor of God). You can pray or journal. JUST DO IT!
