// What did you want to be when you grew up? What was the plan that you had for your life?
HISTORICAL CONTEXT
The word Babel in the Bible originally meant “confused.” This is important for us to know because in the account of the tower of Babel humanity “confused” many things. They confused their role in creation and confused God’s role in their lives. They confused their purpose when they tried to become “famous” instead of using their gifts to help others know God. Lastly, they became “confused” after God scattered them and they spoke different languages.

DIGGING DEEPER
Read Isaiah 55:8-9 (P.560). In this passage, we see that we have a limited understanding of God’s plan and how He is using us for far greater things. We get so consumed with our current needs that we can become blind to God’s overall plan to reach the lost.
Read Jeremiah 29:11 (P.596). God has a plan for all of us and we need to find our hope in Him.
