“Jesus came and told his disciples, ‘I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you.’” Matthew 28:18-20a

“Discipleship is that developmental process that progressively brings Christians from spiritual infancy to spiritual maturity…. The singular, overarching goal of a disciple is to bring all of life under the lordship of Jesus Christ and then help someone else to do the same. Disciples are to turn around and make other disciples.” – Dr. Tony Evans

  • Disciples Disciple Disciples.

To live as a disciple:

1. Align your priorities.

“Then [Jesus] said to the crowd, ‘If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me.’” Luke 9:23

“For in him we live and move and exist.” Acts 17:28a

“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6

2. Follow Jesus’ teachings.

“Jesus said to the people who believed in him, ‘You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.’” John 8:31-32

3. Produce spiritual results.

“ [Jesus said], ‘I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.’” John 15:5

4. Disciple others.

“…Go and make disciples…” Matthew 28:19
