Our Belief Statements

7 Essential Beliefs

God: We believe there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons — the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, equal in power; this triune God created all, upholds all, and governs all. God is perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love.

Scriptures: We believe the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God and that men were moved by the Spirit of God to write the very words of Scripture. Therefore we believe the Bible is without error.

Jesus: We believe Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, and lived a sinless life. We also believe that he died on the cross, was resurrected, and then ascended into heaven. We believe Jesus is the only way to get to heaven. Finally, we believe that Jesus will come again.

Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin and empowers each person to turn to Jesus. The Holy Spirit also empowers each follower for ministry. We believe the Holy Spirit plants himself within each person at the time of salvation and that He is the abiding Helper, Teacher and Guide. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and in the exercise of all the Biblical gifts of the Spirit.

Salvation: We believe in heaven and hell, and that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of each person’s sin. By grace, God freely offers eternal life, with Him in Heaven, to those who place their faith in Jesus Christ as sufficient payment for their sin.

The Church: We believe that The Church is the Body of Christ, of which Jesus Christ is the head. The members are those who have trusted by faith in the finished work of Christ.

Baptism and The Lord’s Supper: We believe that Jesus gave his Church two symbols to remind us of His life, death, and resurrection — Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We believe that Baptism is to be administered by immersion. We also believe in sharing the Lord’s Supper together as a sign of unity, love and for deep reflection.
