Devotional Day 1: The Father Who Dreams You Up
Scripture:
“You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb.” Psalm 139:13 (NLT)
Reflection:
I remember watching my children sleep when they were babies, their tiny chests rising and falling. In those quiet moments, my heart would ache with a love so fierce it felt like it could burst. I imagined their futures—who they would become, the laughter they’d share, the hurdles they’d overcome. Even before they could speak a word, they were deeply, irrevocably loved.
This is a faint echo of how God the Father sees you. Before you took your first breath, He wasn’t just aware of you; He was knitting you together with intention. He wasn’t a distant architect sketching a blueprint; He was a loving Father dreaming up His child. We often think of “God the Father” as a formal title, perhaps imagining a stern figure in the sky. But the truth is far more intimate. He is the Father who knows the rhythm of your heart because He set it in motion. He is the Creator who didn’t just make you but wanted you. Today, rest in the knowledge that you are not a random occurrence. You are the deliberate design of a Father who loves you.
Prayer:
Father God, thank You for being the Author of my life. When I feel insignificant or overlooked, remind me that Your hands made me and that I am held in Your heart. Help me to see myself through Your loving eyes today. Amen.
