Devotional Day 10: God’s Personal Letter to You

Scripture:
“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.” 2 Timothy 3:16 (NLT)

Reflection:
My wife and I wrote many letters to each other back when we were dating. I still have them. Each one is a treasure because it’s a piece of her heart, written directly to me. When I read them, I know her better, understand her thoughts, and am reminded of her love.

In many ways, the Bible is God’s personal letter to us. The word “inspired” literally means “God-breathed.” Every word carries the very breath and heart of our Creator. He gave us Scripture not as a rigid rulebook meant to crush us, but as a loving guide to lead us into the best life possible. It teaches, corrects, and trains us, just as a loving parent would guide their child. When you feel lost, it shows you the truth. When you’ve gone astray, it gently corrects you. It doesn’t just give information; it offers transformation, because it comes from a God who is personally invested in you.

Prayer:
Father, thank you for breathing out Your Word so that I can know You better. Help me to receive its teaching and correction not as judgment, but as the loving guidance of a Father who wants the very best for me. Amen.
