Cast – Part 2: Light of Jesus
Matthew 5:13-16
- I Will Influence “My One”.
- Make every interaction meaningful.
“You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless.” Matthew 5:13 (p.736)
How to make every interaction meaningful:
- Live in the truth that you are valuable to God.
- Point people to Jesus.
- Be different and reflect Jesus.
“You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house.” Matthew 5:14-15 (p.736)
How to be the light:
- Live in the hope that you have in Jesus.
- Talk about what Jesus has done in your life.
(Jesus) “…’I am the light of the world.’” John 8:12 (p.817)
“In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.” Matthew 5:16 (p.736)
Series Memory Verse: “Don’t be afraid! From now on you’ll be fishing for people!” Luke 5:10b (p.785)
