Connect The Dots – Part 1: The Trinity
Matthew 3:13-17
We struggle to relate to a God we cannot fully explain:
- Confusion leads to spiritual distance in our faith.
- We often lack the right words to describe God to others.
- Move from seeking explanation to adoring the mystery of God.
“Oh, how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways!” Romans 11:33 (p.866)
- God Is Three-In-One.
“After his baptism, as Jesus came up out of the water, the heavens were opened and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and settling on him. And a voice from heaven said, ‘This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy.’” Matthew 3:16–17 (p.735)
Who’s doing what?
– God the Father affirms Jesus openly.
– God the Son obeys and models surrender.
– God the Spirit descends and empowers.
- Worship with wonder, not just words.
“But will God really live on earth? Why, even the highest heavens cannot contain you. How much less this Temple I have built!”1 Kings 8:27 (p.265)
- Trust in relationship, not just reason.
“May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.” 2 Corinthians 13:14 (p.889)
- Share your faith with humility.
Series Memory Verse: “Jesus said to the people who believed in him, ‘You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.’” John 8:31-32 (p.817)
My Next Step This Week: I will surrender a situation I can’t control to God and trust in His greater plan.
