Easter Service

Matthew 28:1-10

“The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” John 10:10 (p.819)

Satan’s purpose traps me in the tomb: kill, steal and destroy.

Jesus’ purpose calls me out of the tomb: a rich and satisfying life!

  • Jesus Is Alive, So I Can Have A Rich And Satisfying Life.

1. Step out of isolation.

“Then the angel spoke to the women. ‘Don’t be afraid!’… (Jesus) isn’t here! He is risen from the dead…”  Matthew 28:5-6 (p.760)

“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” Romans 12:2 (p.866)

2. Leave the tomb behind.

“And now, go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and he is going ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there. Remember what I have told you.” Matthew 28:7 (p.760)

“The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.” Romans 8:11 (p.943)

My Next Step This Week:

_____ I am making Jesus the leader of my life for the first time today.

_____ I am renewing my faith in Jesus as the leader of my life today.

_____ I am committing to continue my faith walk with Jesus

_____ I have made a clear choice to never make Jesus the leader of my life.

“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”  2 Corinthians 5:17 (p.884)
