Motivated – Part 4: Patience
Series Memory Verse: “But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!” Galatians 5:22–23 (p.893)
“You warned them to return to your Law, but they became proud and obstinate and disobeyed your commands. They did not follow your regulations, by which people will find life if only they obey… In your love, you were patient with them for many years…” Nehemiah 9:29-30 (p.378)
- I Am Motivated To Live In Patience.
- Patience is endurance.
“We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character…” Romans 5:3-4 (p.860)
- Patience is perseverance.
“…Pursue righteousness and a godly life, along with faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness.” 1 Timothy 6:11 (p.912)
- Patience is slowing down.
“Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires.” James 1:19-20 (p.930)
“The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.” 2 Peter 3:9 (p.939)
My Next Step This Week: Choose one area where your patience is tested. Pause, pray, and lean on Jesus to endure, persevere, and forgive in that situation.
