The True Meaning of Christmas: Worship and Generosity at Alive Church
The True Essence of Christmas
As the holiday season approaches, we are often bombarded with advertisements and messages about sales, presents, and material possessions. It’s easy to get caught up in the commercialization of Christmas and lose sight of its true meaning. But at Alive Church, we believe that Christmas is more than just a time for giving and receiving gifts; it’s a time for worship, generosity, and the celebration of receiving the ultimate gift, Jesus.
Generosity: The Core of Christmas Spirit
God the Father led the way that first Christmas, giving us the gift of Jesus and all He came to give us through the cross and eternal life. In that spirit, we at Alive Church strongly believe in the power of generosity. We understand that Christmas is about receiving gifts and giving back to those in need. That’s why we do our Christmas offering every year to give outside our walls and support various ministries and missionaries. This offering is over and above our regular tithes and offerings because we believe that as Jesus’ followers, we need to take on His characteristic of generosity, and it is an essential part of living out our faith.

Worship Night: A Time to Experience Christmas
As a church, we always want to make this season special for you and your family and friends to experience the celebration of the coming of our Savior and Lord Jesus. This year, as a part of that plan, we are having a worship night to kick off the holiday season. So, let me invite you to bring a friend and join us this Friday evening for a special worship night at Alive Church. It will be a time of reflection, praise, and gratitude as we come together to celebrate the goodness of our God. Our worship nights are always experiential, filled with powerful music, and prayers. Trust me; you won’t want to miss it.
Let’s Celebrate Christmas in the Right Way
As we look to celebrate Christmas in the right way, it’s important to remember the true reason for the season – God’s love for us and the birth of Jesus Christ. This season isn’t about the gifts we receive under the tree; rather, it’s about the ultimate gift of salvation we’ve received through Jesus. This, above all else, is the gift we should celebrate and cherish the most.
In the same way, God gave to us, we should also extend our charity to others. This season is a time to serve and give to others and show God’s love in practical ways. Whether it’s through the Christmas offerings we give to support ministries outside of our walls, or the kindness we show to our neighbors, every act of service is a reflection of God’s love.
Remember, Christmas is a season of joy and celebration, of giving and receiving, but not just material gifts. It’s about the love, the compassion, the kindness that we share with others. It’s about spreading the love of God to everyone we meet. This is the true spirit of Christmas. Let’s make it our mission to keep this spirit alive, not just during the holiday season, but throughout the entire year as well.
